Mark Andrew Starinsky, 60, of Glenwood, MD passed away Sunday, February 5th at his home. Born in Indianapolis, IN, son of the late Andrew and Margaret, Mark is survived by his wife of 32 years Melissa (DiCarlantonio), daughters Meghan and Andrea, son-in-law Matt, brother Michael, a large extended family with many nieces and nephews, and a community of friends who adored him. His girls were the love of his life and he took great pride in their enthusiasm for school spirit – even though their college careers took them to opposing rivalries!

Mark was a graduate of the University of Maryland and a devoted member of the SAE fraternity. He had a riveting career working for the Montgomery County Police Department, the Naval Criminal Investigative Service, and other areas within the Department of Defense as a civil servant and then later as a Program Manager for A-T Solutions and as an International Security Specialist for Systems High Corporation.

A friend to all, Mark enjoyed tailgating with his lifelong buddies at Maryland football games, attending Terrapin basketball games, vacationing in the Outer Banks with the “SKIP IT” crew, eating Ledo’s pizza, relaxing at his condo in Norfolk, VA, and simply hanging out with friends and family. His generosity, calm demeanor, warm heartedness, and smile will definitely be missed.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Mark’s memory can be made to the University of Maryland. Donations will go towards a legacy brick outside of Maryland Stadium in Mark’s name and to the Terrapin Club, an organization close to Mark’s heart. Checks payable to UMCP Foundation, 8500 Paint Branch Drive, Suite 2707, College Park, MD 20742. Please note “Mark Starinsky” on the memo line.
