Gloria Jean Fowler, 76, of Ellicott City, passed away on July 8, 2017 after a long, courageous battle with brain cancer. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Jerry Fowler, her 5 daughters Jerri Lynn Seward, Kimberly Wisnowski and husband Stanley Wisnowski, Cathy Hastings and husband Eric Hastings, Valerie Ryan and husband Darrell Ryan, Erin Klosterman and partner Vince Cucina, her son Eric Fowler and wife Donna Fowler as well as 14 grandkids and 4 great grandkids. She is also survived by her brother James G. Heath, Jr. and her sister Cheryl Lerp. She was preceded in death by her parents James and Betty Heath and her grandson Justin Grahe.

Gloria was born in Baltimore where she lived as a child before moving to Glen Burnie. She graduated from Glen Burnie High School in 1959 and married her high school sweetheart in 1960. As the mother of six, she was a homemaker and school volunteer for 20 years. In 1981 she entered back into the workforce working in the billing department for Baltimore Washington Medical Center (previously North Arundel Hospital). There she remained for 25 years until her retirement in 2006.

Gloria was an avid Orioles baseball fan, loved to play cards and games and couldn’t wait for November so she could start putting up her Christmas decorations. She was a kind and generous person who always had a smile on her face. As a true matriarch, she found the greatest joy in preparing and serving a family feast during all holiday gatherings. She is loved immensely and will be missed beyond words.
