Jim Carpenter  Jay was the best brother-n-law anyone could ask for. Always there to help. Often the only one to help without being asked. Just a kind soul always with a kind word. He will surely be missed.

Tracey Tavares  Jay-Jay.. you will be missed. Flashbacks of our neighborhood and the fun times we had.. Always there for me.. making sure I was okay! Being the chunkiest kid in town.. someone had to protect me..over the years. Once, you ended up having to push me over the fence when being chased.. I never did learn to climb a fence..n ow that i am thinner... still probably could not!! Jay-Jay just to hear your name, over the years, ALWAYS put a smile on my face..when I saw you at the reunion.. It was YOU who made me CRY!!! Even got in the family photo with ya.. Miss you ...and one day.. When I think of you. It will put that smile on my face..did not make many like my Jay Jay!!!!!

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your wonderful family. Love to all.

Mike D'Amico  How heartbreaking. I have great memories of the friend he was to me during those high school days - the long talks we had, the new leaf we were both turning, our love for guitar playing. I didn't get to catch up with him after all these years. I started my journey of faith with him when I turned 16. You wouldn't believe the talks we had about what it would be like when we got to heaven. We could see it so clearly, believed it so deeply. Those talks are coming back to me now, vividly. Much time has passed since I've seen him, but the love is still there. My heart is broken and I want to extend sincere condolences to his wife and the Cornell family. You will be in my prayers during this deeply painful time.

Marsa Cornell  People such as Jay never die- at least not in the hearts of those for whom fortune and time have allowed lives to overlap. God speed, until we meet again...

Alma Goldchain  I'm incredibly heartbroken over the loss of my dear childhood friend, who's smile never changed. I'm so thankful for the Forest Heights Reunion we had, as that proved what a special neighborhood we all grew up in. Jay's sweetness was evident when he was a child & I was so happy to see that his maturity didn't take that sweetness away. My deepest condolences go out to the entire Cornell Family, but in particular to my other amigas/amigos who also have a special place in my heart - Nancy, Donny, Patty, Ellen,& David. Our friendship connection remains a strong one. No matter where we are, we will always be connected and of course that especially means with Jay too. Love you all 4ever!

Richard Falcone  Jay was a man of great character. I remember him many times sticking up for what was right. He will be greatly missed.

Ken Howard  Patty, Tim and the Cornell family; I am so SAD & SORRY for your tragic loss! Especially here at the HOLIDAYS! I LOVE YOU & TIM! Be BRAVE and Full of LOVE, even though these cowards do not deserve mention, please do not let what they did to your brother cause HATE in your BEAUTIFUL HEARTS! LOVE THEM despite their murderous HATE filled HEARTS...because when you do, they cannot have any CONTROL over you...when people HATE, the person they are HATING literally yields CONTROL over the person hating, so, they literally CONTROL us through this pent up emotion of HATE...when we do the OPPOSITE and LOVE them even though they deserve the opposite, then we are in CONTROL and HATE CANNOT DESTROY OUR HEALTH and SPIRIT! Many BLESSINGS flow from this! I LOVE YOU GUYS! PEACE & LOVE...ALWAYS WITH YOU! Ken

Louise Cross  To all the Cornell family: My heart goes out to all of you during this difficult time, and especially during the holiday season. I remember when Jay would visit his Dad here, and knew he was a great son. Rest assured they are together agin. James, your Father, loved all of you very much. Keep your faith, and God Bless you.
