Obituary: June Robertson Osterman, 76, formerly of Glenwood, died Sunday, February 28, 2010, at her home in Bridgeville, DE., after a valiant battle with cancer. Born and raised in Rockville, Mrs. Osterman graduated from Richard Montgomery High School, and became involved in modeling and fashion design. She then married, had a family, and worked as a bank clerk, bookkeeper, apartment building manager, and dress shop manager. Mrs. Osterman moved with her family to Howard County in 1968 and pursued her hobbies of horseback riding, gardening and sewing. Then, in 1970, she opened Stitch With Knits in Ellicott City. Mrs. Osterman operated that sewing shop, later known as J&L Sewing Shoppe, with her husband, Larry, for over 27 years. Mrs. Osterman is survived by her husband of 57 years, Charles “Larry” Osterman; her son, Jamie of Laurel; her daughter, Terry, of San Diego; and 8 grandchildren.
